Card #18 - Fernando Arroyo

The Card
I had no idea who this was until I saw this card for the first time a few weeks ago.  Arroyo bounced from the majors to the minors between 1975 and 1986.  In fact, he would be released by the Twins in early 1982 and then signed with Oakland.  He appeared in ten games with the Athletics and then was back to the minors for FOUR years until he reappeared in one last game in August of 1986.  With two outs in the top of the ninth, he walked three straight batters before getting lifted.  Egads - what a crazy, painful final game in the big leagues!

The Story
Just another find in the common's box.

The Price

The Condition
We've got a first for the blog, and I'm even going to add a label for it because I love it so much.  Click on the card and look at Arroyo's right shoulder.  That's right...BUBBLE GUM STAIN!!!  YES!!!

The Verdict
This is the wrong 1982 Fernando to have in your collection.
